Project
Trail Bridge Support Project
Description
About this project
The Trail Bridge Support Project is implemented by Action Nepal in collaboration with the Government of Nepal and Helvetas, aiming to support the construction of short-span trail bridges (below 120 meters) in rural areas of Dhading District.
The project focuses on improving safe and reliable access for communities that currently face significant mobility challenges due to difficult terrain and limited infrastructure. By facilitating the construction of trail bridges, the initiative helps reduce the daily hardships faced by local people who often have to carry heavy loads across unsafe natural obstacles.
A key approach of the project is to promote active participation of local communities in the construction process, thereby strengthening ownership and sustainability of the infrastructure. Through this, the project contributes to improving access to basic services, economic opportunities, and essential resources, with a special focus on women and marginalized groups.
Objectives
Improve accessibility within rural trail systems.
Enhance access to basic needs and support social and economic development.
