Description

About this project

The Sadikshya Scholarship Project is an educational initiative implemented by Action Nepal with the generous support of the Dutch foundation Hart4onderwijsNepal. The project aims to provide scholarships to underprivileged students in Nepal, ensuring continued access to education for children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

The project was designed to support students who, despite their financial challenges, demonstrate strong potential to succeed academically and in life. It recognizes poverty as one of the key drivers of school dropout rates in Nepal.

For many families, the cost of education—including tuition fees, textbooks, uniforms, and other essential learning materials—poses a significant financial burden. To address this barrier, the Sadikshya Scholarship Project provides targeted financial support to students aged 9 to 15 years who are at risk of dropping out of school due to economic hardship.

The scholarships cover essential educational expenses, thereby reducing the financial pressure on families and encouraging them to keep their children in school. Through this support, the project contributes to improved school retention, better learning outcomes, and increased opportunities for vulnerable children to complete their basic education.
